I am an independent rescuer, I live in a town where stray dogs live freely and in general have a good life because of the community.

But one day I saw a homeless man walking around the town with 3 or 4 dogs following him. One of them was Nico.

One day when I saw him again with this man, and I realized he was extremely wounded, and in my experience they were dog fight wounds, so I ask local authorities for help and that’s how he was freed from that man, but unfortunately he did not have many options. He had very low possibilities to be adopted and was not a candidate to be realized so they were considering putting him to sleep.

I started visiting him at the vet, taking him for walks and I met a beautiful soul. So gentle, caring, and eager for a human bond.

So once he was physically recovered I took him to a boarding and training facility where he has been healing emotionally. Nico now plays with other dogs, but can be reactive with some. I know it can take time to find the right person who accept it and care for him the way he needs, but I don’t loose hope, and with the help of my friends we will pay for his boarding as long as it takes!
